Bla Bla Hospital

www.blablahospital.co.uk

34c Stables Market. The brainchild of Ako Moffat, Blablahospital first started 'admitting patients' to its Camden clinic in 2005. As head nurse and designer, Ako discovered her label's current home by chasing a cat into the Stables market, instantly falling in love with the area’s community and atmosphere. Her artistic vision instils in her a need to cure the fashion-sick people of London with playful and funky attire.

The 'First Aid' version of Blablahospital could once be found in Spitalfields and Portobello Markets, but the label has now found its spiritual home in Camden. The collections have been described as 'hospital style without the fetish feeling'. In a technique she describes as 'build, break then treat', Ako creates her abstract, one-of-a-kind collection with garments individually crafted by hand.

Hearts and Guns

blackboardbetty@hotmail.com

07729 285 541

Recent fine art graduates Laura Powell, Lizzie Sykes and Colette Cummings have stumbled upon a niche in the clothing market. Utilising vintage and retro fabrics and unique designs, the 'Hearts and Guns' clothing range offers not only comfort and wearability but one-off works of art adorned with original applique additions. The success of the 'Hearts and Guns' clothing range emerged almost over night when the girls started making garments for themselves. The more they wore their own clothes, the more the demand grew for custom-made bespoke garments. From there they progressed to distributing their collection into retail outlets in their home-town of Huddersfield. They have since plunged into the Camden Market scene and the girls can be found at the 'Hearts and Guns' stall on Camden Lock Market most weekends.

Cordara's interest in greenstone carving took shape during an extended trip to New Zealand, where he was instantly mesmerised by the spirituality and message behind the country's 1100-year-old traditional carvings.
